Drop the "L" You're Not A Loser

Drop the "L" You're Not A Loser

Have you ever had days when you feel like there should be a great big capital "L" in the center of your forehead?  "L-O-S-E-R" You are no longer a spring chicken.  And in the morning you look in the mirror, low and behold!  There is that annoying "L" right smack dab in the middle of you your forehead once again.  "L-O-S-E-R"!   You think to yourself;  and reply to that negative voice in your head.  You know the one that nags at you morning, noon and night?    Yes,  and even in public restrooms.  It tells you, what a louse you are.  You can't stick to anything you start.  You sit by yourself at church so no one will talk to you.  Oh, and get this, it tells you that out of everyone sitting in your section, you are the only one who gave under 10 dollars at offering.

Now that offering is over, the announcements start.  Do you sit there and listen like you are interested?  Here comes your head friend again throwing in his 2 cents.  He tells you that he understands why you get up at that time, after all, they ask you to help the poor, prepare food for a shut in.  These types of things are really 'not your thing'.

Driving home from church, all you can think about is watching the ball game.  During the game, you begin to think about those hungry folks at the mission.  It would have not hurt a thing to go and help someone that has nothing.  There comes that "L" again. Your little head friend begins to remind you of all the opportunities that have been laid before you.  Had you acted on these the world would be better in some place, and in some way.  "Oh Well", you tell yourself, there is millions out there doing their part, and maybe even a few doing some extra for you.  Uh oh, there comes that "L" again.  And this time it's twice it's size.  The little voice says; "Ah don't worry yourself about it.  So you're a LOSER.  Lot's of guys are LOSERS.  They're just like you.  They never stick to what they start. They couldn't care less about the hungry."  What the voice is telling you is that you are definitely not alone.   Lots of people are selfish bumms.  When the voice says this, you almost weep inside.  You remember Jesus saying that the road to destruction is wide, and many will find. You don't really want to be on the wide road do you?   Then you will be with others like yourself that may as well be a group of oxen to the slaughter.  Maybe you really don't like being a LOSER!!  Maybe you would rather switch roads and get on the narrow road that leads to ETERNAL LIFE!!!

So you're ready to throw in the loser towel?  But you just have no idea what God had planned for you.  After all, you've never thought to ask Him.  So you close your eyes to pray and talk to God. You tell Him that you always assumed there was really no active part for you in the Kingdom and you figure your name would always be "Loser".  Sometimes you even though that God sent His Son Jesus so others might live, but not you. So for you, there was never really a future in it.  You often just seemed to be in the way of others as they were doing good.  Because of these things, you took the "L" on your forehead, and accepted it.  You figured being a loser was just your lot in life.  Because God the Father knows your heart,  He will give you a new name.  You're name is no longer Loser.  Today your name be "son". I know what you're thinking.  You're wondering how your name can be  "son" when that's the name name He calls Jesus.   Jesus paid a cost so high it was enough to pay for innumerable sons and daughters.  Now God call you His son as well.  Isn't that wonderful?  But it doesn't stop there.  God has many gifts for you.  But right now He wants to give you one of HIS precious promises that only those that love HIM get to enjoy.  It is a promise so you will know you will never be alone again.  And here it is:  Jeremiah 29:11  "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, Plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope."

See, God has plans for you. and according to the promise,  you will be successful, and have a wonderful future full of hope!
